About SCCW Missions
The mission of the Spiritual Community Church of the West is to reach out beyond our walls and build bridges of love with our community and the world that God loves. At least 10% of all general funds received go to support the missions of our church.
The key to discerning church sponsored missions is to have someone in the church with a passion and a gift in an area that fits in with our church’s objectives. If you are interested in helping with or learning more about an existing mission, please contact the program leader listed.
If you are interested in the possibility of another mission project through the church, talk to Rev. Bruce or call 225-4331.
QUILTS FOR CANCER
I first met Grace Jacobsen when she performed for us at the Spiritual Community Church of the West. I was so touched by her story of cancer survival and her belief in miracles that I visited her website and also the website of the Imaq clinic in Mexico which Grace had visited many times for treatment.
The next time I met Grace I told her I was part of a group in Nanton who make quilts for cancer patients. She told me about the great need for quilts at the Imaq clinic in Mexico and I just knew that I wanted to make warm quilts for the cancer patients there. These are just “scrappy quilts”, nothing fancy, keeping in mind they are for warmth and comfort. I enjoy the quilting especially knowing that they are going to help some sick person keep very warm during their treatment.
If anyone is interested in helping or providing materials in creating these quilts, please contact Rowena Goodman at goodmansinalberta@telus.net or call 403-646-6205.

The Healing Ministry
The Healing Ministry is sponsored by the Mission of the Spiritual Community Church of the West.
Our Healing Ministry is Christ-Centered. Healing Touch is a spiritual practice inspired by the healings of Jesus, showing that his authority could have influence in healing of mind, body and spirit, for those who have faith. The power of healing comes from God and restores harmony and balance to help us self-heal.
The early disciples experienced the power of Christ’s healing. She said to herself “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.” Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter, “he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed from that moment. (Matthew 9: 21-22)
Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you,” and their sight was restored. (Matthew 9: 29-30)
He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness. (Matthew 10: 1). This mission allows us to reach out and connect with one another, to enrich and support our community.

Community Guest Musicians
"Music is the language of the soul."
One of the missions of the Spiritual Community Church of the West is to encourage musicians in the community to come and share their gifts of inspirational music. Not only do we benefit from the sharing of such talent, but this also enables our community guests to experience who we are. Being more about spirituality than religion, community guests grace us with an understanding that the reality of Christ is expressed both within and outside the walls of the church, but also most powerfully on the bridge where the two meet.
